Excavator bucket teeth can be said to be a love-hate part of the machine users, on the one hand, bucket teeth as a pioneer bucket, for the excavator shovel soil, rock, digging ditch invincible. On the other hand, the bucket teeth wear out quickly, the replacement frequency is high, and the cost increases so that diggers are heartbroken!

Why is the price of similar bucket teeth, others always use a longer time than you? Why do you spend a lot of money to buy the bucket teeth? Why is it that the bucket teeth you bought at a great price are sometimes not as good as the ones you bought cheaply before? Classification of bucket teeth

1. Earth teeth (for excavation of dirt, sand, gravel and other light operating environment) generally earth teeth with a larger bucket mouth area, with a larger stacking surface, so it has a higher filling factor, save operating time, high efficiency.

2. Rock teeth (for ore, quarry) after blasting ore loading, etc., heavy work strength wear-resistant steel, better excavation performance, economy more prominent.

3. Conical teeth (for coal mines, underground mining) is mainly suitable for drilling the rock layer of not high hardness, with a large impact.

  

Bucket teeth installation

The common installation methods are direct-mounted bucket teeth and cross-mounted bucket teeth.

Horizontal installation refers to the parallel installation of the pin shaft and the front of the bucket teeth.

1. Directly mounted bucket teeth

It is more convenient to disassemble and smash directly from the top, so there is a large operating space.

In the excavation, the straight mounted gear pin will be subjected to the squeezing pressure of the excavated material, and if the excavation force is large, the clamping force of the spring cannot meet the requirements, which will easily lead to the gear pin falling off, so this structure, although easy to disassemble, is generally used in excavators smaller, lower tonnage excavators. 

2. Transverse mounted bucket teeth

Not too convenient in disassembly, side operation space is small, and it is more difficult to give force. When dismantling individual bucket teeth, you must use special long rod type tools in order to dismantle and install.

When digging, the front side of the cross-mounted gear pin will not be subjected to the squeezing pressure of the excavated material, so it can withstand a larger digging force, but the spring will easily wear and fail when it is subjected to reciprocal lateral force in use, thus causing the gear pin to fall off. Generally, it is more common when the digging force is more than 20 tons.

1. Sand casting

Sand casting is the lowest cost for bucket teeth, and the level of technology and quality of bucket teeth are not as good as precision casting and forging casting. Therefore, the price is the cheapest among all processes.

2. Precision Casting

Precision casting: The cost is moderate, but the requirements for raw materials are very strict, and the technology level is also high. Some of the precision casting gears are even better than forged cast gears in terms of wear resistance and quality due to the ingredients. 

(Note: If the number of teeth is large, then the cost performance of the teeth is very high, precision casting is very good in terms of price, quality, cost performance and wear resistance) 

3. Forging casting  

Forging casting: is the highest of the three processes, while the level of technology and the quality of the bucket teeth is also the best, so the sales price is also the most expensive, but can guarantee that the industrial level and quality of forging casting bucket teeth is the best!

(Note: If you have an excavator that does earthmoving work, and the frequency and demand for replacement of bucket teeth is relatively small, it is recommended that you choose forged and cast bucket teeth, although the price is much higher, but the service life, production process and quality are optimal)

Generally, forged bucket teeth are more wear-resistant and harder, and their service life is about twice as long as cast bucket teeth, while the price is about 1.5 times of cast bucket teeth.

 

Tooth replacement cycle

The replacement cycle of bucket teeth depends on the construction environment and the degree of wear of the bucket teeth, for example, if the excavator has been doing earthwork, then the degree of wear of bucket teeth is relatively small, usually about 4-5 months to replace once.

If the bucket is rock type, the frequency of replacing bucket teeth is faster, like granite is generally about a week to replace the bucket teeth, of course, this cycle is not fixed, depending on the quality of the bucket teeth, the actual operation of the degree of care to determine the frequency of replacement of bucket teeth.

 

Suggestions on the maintenance of excavator bucket teeth and extend the service life

1. The excavator driver in the operation of the excavation angle operation to pay attention to, try to dig when mastering, bucket teeth down digging perpendicular to the work surface, to avoid breaking bucket teeth due to excessive inclination.

2. Pay attention not to swing the excavation arm left and right in the case of greater resistance, so that it is easy to make the bucket teeth and teeth seat due to excessive force left and right and break, without considering the design of the left and right force.

3. The excavator bucket teeth in the process of use, the bucket bucket teeth on the outside of the bucket than the innermost wear 30% faster, with a period of time, to switch the bucket teeth inside and outside the position.

4. The excavator driver's driving method to improve the utilization of the bucket teeth is also very critical, the excavator driver in lifting the big arm try not to collect the bucket, the operation should pay special attention to the coordination of action. Some excavator drivers tend to use too much force in the action of enlarging the arm and sending the small arm to drop the bucket on the rocks, which will break the bucket teeth or knock on the cracks and break the arm.

5. The wear of the tooth seat is also very important to the service life of the excavator bucket teeth, tooth seat wear off 10% after it is recommended to replace the seat, wear between the seat and the bucket teeth there is a large gap, so that the bucket teeth and the seat of the fit, and the force point has changed, the bucket teeth due to the force point change and fracture.
